DescriptionSuomen Hyötytuuli Oy is a wind power production company established in 1998. Its shareholders are major Finnish city energy companies.
The mission of Suomen Hyötytuuli is to produce electricity by wind power for its shareholders and to carry out marketing, research and development work related to wind power.
Suomen Hyötytuuli has three wind farms in operation, located in Pori and two Raahe. Currently, the company is building the world’s first offshore wind farm for icy conditions in Tahkoluoto, Pori. Suomen Hyötytuuli is also in the process of planning several projects throughout the country.
In the next few years, Suomen Hyötytuuli aims to build 140 MW of new wind power in Finland.
A pioneer in Finnish wind power production
With is operations, Suomen Hyötytuuli has significantly promoted Finnish wind power production. The company was the first in our country to introduce a megawatt-scale wind farm in 1999.
Suomen Hyötytuuli has made substantial investments in the development of offshore wind power, and it built Finland’s first offshore wind farm outside Tahkoluoto in Pori in 2010.
